Stress Awareness Month Week 4 | Reflection

As Stress Awareness Month draws to a close, we’re reflecting on a truly rewarding and impactful journey at ASH Construction Group. Throughout April, our focus was to prioritise mental health, reduce stress, and create space for our employees to reset, recharge, and reconnect and what a month it’s been!💪

We kicked things off in Week 1 with a relaxed chat on Wednesday 9th April at 10am, where employees from both our Manston and Kemsing offices came together to talk about stress in the workplace. We went through an informative PowerPoint presentation, but what really stood out were the honest personal stories and open feedback shared by our team. Creating a safe space for these conversations was a powerful way to set the tone for the rest of the month.🍃

In Week 2, on Thursday 17th April at 4:30pm, we were joined by the brilliant Rebecca Brown for a dedicated Stress Management Workshop. Rebecca shared valuable techniques to help us manage stress more effectively, from breathing exercises to mindset tools all of which we can continue using beyond April. The session left many of us feeling empowered and better equipped to look after our mental wellbeing.😊

Week 3 brought a bit of fun and healthy competition with our Step Challenge, which ran from Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th April. Employees across all sites competed to walk the most steps, with the winner receiving a £10 voucher. Not only did this encourage us to stay active, but it also brought a great energy to the workplace. It was fantastic to see so many team members getting involved and cheering each other on whether they were walking at lunch, pacing around the office, or taking the long way home!🤝

We wrapped up the month on a reflective and uplifting note in Week 4, with our Coffee and Mental Health Walk on Wednesday 30th April at 12:00pm. This was a chance for all employees to come together, enjoy some fresh air, and talk about everything we’d experienced over the past few weeks. From the relaxed chat at the start of the month to the physical activity and wellbeing tools in between, this final gathering reminded us how important it is to take time out and simply connect. The conversations were honest, the atmosphere supportive, and the feedback overwhelmingly positive. ☕

Stress Awareness Month has helped us build stronger connections, increase awareness around mental health, and reinforce our commitment to supporting our people not just in April, but year-round. Thank you to everyone who took part, shared their stories, and helped make this month so meaningful. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year, even bigger and better! 💙
